Having Fun...
by Eric Maina

Fun is all about enjoying one's self and having a good time. People do different things for fun, some good, some utterly destructive. Therefore, it is important to seriously think about what is fun, and what to avoid completely.

Question -- Is having sex fun?
Some might say yes, others no, but think about it…did God intend it as fun? Then consider its consequences…it's your choice, you can have recreational sex for fun, or you can wait for marriage and avoid excess stress and the potential implications of such behavior. Remember prevention is better than cure.

What you do for fun is a major factor in how you live your life.

  • The music you listen to, as well as the television and movies you watch have strong influences.
  • Fill your leisure time with trash and your life will also come out full of trash.
  • Even though having fun is a way of relaxing, keep your mind into it, and do something you really know is good for you. ("If you want to be happy, be." -Leo Tolstoy)
How to Have Fun
  • Involve yourself in harmless activities with friends and peers.
  • Everything in moderation: Sometimes too much fun does not have a net positive effect.
  • Avoid classifying bad habits as fun. Getting involved in drug abuse or immoral acts can lead to self-destruction, all in the name of "fun."
Where to Have Fun
  • People go to nightclubs, bars and other social places to have fun. There is nothing wrong with this as long as you know what is right for you and that you are responsible for your actions. Not all places are decent; that is why you have to decide which places are good for you. You may be influenced by your surroundings if, for instance, you're exposed to immoral behavior or sexual perversions.
  • It is also advisable to be in a public place or have group dates. The more people around, the less likely it is that you'll be faced with risky sexual encounters.
