Relationships
by Mike Nduati

Relationships are a very serious part of human society. In a relationship, it is important to understand what to do and not to do. Remember to follow your feelings and emotions in a relationship.

What to look for…
  • For two people to get into a relationship, there has to be some physical attraction. Men tend to look more at outward appearances, as physical attraction is very important to them.
  • Women, on the other hand, are more interested in inner feelings and the intricate qualities of a person.
  • Apart from physical attraction, there is an emotional aspect of simply enjoying the company of another.
  • These emotions develop over time as two people are together, leading to feelings of comfort and satisfaction with each other (this is considered love, often the ultimate goal of a relationship).
  • The people in a relationship are responsible for its every turn; they may nurture it or destroy it.
  • Honesty, love and trust form the basics of a relationship. You have to be open with your partner if you expect the same from them.
  • You have to be committed to your partner. This may develop gradually, but it is a sign of a strong bond.
  • A relationship also means being there for one another and understanding each person's individual needs.
  • People in a healthy relationship really know each other, not just on the surface, but they know what the other person is really about.
  • Love only grows when two people are truly committed to each other.
